HBO gets it F***ing right on their hockey doc

If you have not had a chance to see the HBO Penguins/Capitals 24/7 documentary detailing the NHL team's trials and tribulations leading up to their January 1st date in the Outdoor Classic at Heinz Field, it's too bad. The current 4 part mini-series has gained notoriety for Caps Coach Bruce Boudreau's F-bomb laced dressing room tirade but besides that 45 second clip, its pace, production, and all access style is tremendous. Honestly, the aforementioned F-word flies throughout the entire program, from coaches, players and officials alike, not just in Boudreau's speech . It's Locker Room talk and it competeley fits in with the environment the series is profiling. It helps that the Penguins and Caps are heading in different directions right now ramping up the drama leading towards the January 1st game, and the Crosby v. Ovechkin rivalry always piques hockey fans interest but seeing both superstars in this context only adds to the Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader element of their hockey relationship. HBO should consider doing more of this type of programming, they have demonstrated real savvy and skill in capturing the best moments of the 2 teams journey to New Years day- warts and all. If you can find a friend to PVR it for you this holiday season should you not have HBO- do so, it makes for great sports doc viewing.
